So Mamma got a new job!? WTF I like it here in Michigan with the whole family! Well it seems times are tough and when you get a good opportunity – you need to take it! So on December 28th what started out as a typical very exciting car ride – turned it to one VERY long one! We ended up in our new townhouse in Charlotte – it’s very nice and it’s WARMER here! We miss Daddy and Daisy but we are embracing our new life in the South – enjoy our pics from our road trip and y’all come back and visit our blog soon!

So I ask you – whats the quickest way to get to turn around the unconditional love from your pet? Put them in a Halloween costume! Our two frenchies really do put up with crazy dog parents most of the time – we are silly, fun and totally in love with our four legged children, but they don’t enjoy Halloween! Why do we dress up our pets? Mahybe it’s because we just really love Halloween – or maybe its that we don’t have children – all I know is that for the 5 minutes I put on our doggie costumes on Halloween – there is a lot of laughter and love in our house – it’s the best, and if in this life I am not meant to have kids…then thank goodness I have “fur” kids – they fulfill a part of my heart that needs them – a lot more then they need me!

So this summer…as we were planning to go on vacation…we stopped by PetCo to pick up dog tags for our dogs as they were going to Grandma and Grandpa Paynes for a week. Well much to our surprise there was an adoption program going on – we always love those! As we passed the crates of sweet faces – each one speaking to us as dog people – sometimes it is really tough on us to walk out without one – not to be the case today. In one cage sat this sweet little FRENCH BULLDOG! We never see those at such adoptions – immediately we asked about her – the program coordinator was thrilled that we knew the breed. Well lets just say Josh and I shared one look – and about an hour later we walked out of the store with our new love Lily – she is sweet, timid and full of love after being rescued into a life of leisure!

Her favorite place is the couch along with her new big brother – they are both next to me as I type this and nothing makes a long day at work better than coming home to a house full of wagging tails – or as we say with french bulldogs – wagging butts!

Daisy "checking out" her new little brother...if she only knew then!
Our first day was wonderful! We made the trip to Howell, Michigan and brought our French Mastiff Daisy with us to check “him” out. Once we saw him we knew he would be ours…so sweet!
Our trip home was fun and he was a good boy…sitting in the back seat looking all mellow (only later did we realize this was his “FREAKED OUT RIGHT NOW” face)!
Well that was two years ago and our life has been wonderful ever since. Full of love for our dogs….crazy fun play times….trips to the dog park…oh and a little bit of allergies thrown in – just for fun….grrrr!
I hope you enjoy our adventures as much as we do!!
